This is really what the Caring Hearts Jail Ministry is all about, sharing the Word of God with those who are incarcerated, visiting with them as the Lord has asked us to do in Matthew 25:35-36.

For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.

The time that an individual spends in jail can often be a most spiritually productive time for receiving the Gospel. The individual in jail is often hurting, depressed, angered, disappointed-an entire gamut of emotions conducive to introspection and openness to making a change in their life. By God's strength and guidance, the life of an individual or an entire family, can be changed. No matter how many times in the past such efforts may have failed, no matter what the past may have produced, when we begin to rely on God's strength and not our own, then we will begin to truly see lives changed for the better. Changed lives begin with a rebirth; dying to self and being Born Again. [God's Plan of Salvation ] Seek Jesus, and you will find a new beginning, one that promises eternal life and that gives you the strength you need for every situation.

You should know that it is not always possible for a member of the Caring Hearts Jail Ministry (or any ministry, for that matter) to have immediate access to area Correctional Centers. These jails are often overcrowded and understaffed. This means that visiting rooms may be in use by attorneys, that the officer needed to bring an inmate to a visiting room is busy transporting another inmate to a court appointment, etc. We will try to arrange a visit with your loved one as soon as possible, with the cooperation of the staff in the Correctional Center. Your prayers for these hard-working men and women are always appreciated; their willingness to open the doors of the jail to those ministering God's Word, even when they are busy, is what makes these visits possible. While visiting in the Correctional Center, please remember to say "thank you" and to treat the Correctional Officers with respect and courtesy-theirs is truly a difficult job under the best of circumstances.
